Company Background
Victoria Winery Tours was created in 1991 by Barbara Nixon, as an owner/operator business. Barbara developed a reputation for her passion, drive, quest for excellence and personal service. These qualities have been recognised within the wine tourism industry, as she has served on Industry Committees and has been a speaker at two Australian Wine Tourism Conferences.
The present Managing Director, Trevor Armstrong, joined the business in 1996 and in July 2000 assumed ownership. The philosophies on which the business has prospered, continue to be the cornerstone. Trevor has formal training and practical experience in the wine industry, specifically in viticulture and varietal concepts.
This niche business originally concentrated on small personalised touring which is still our hallmark. We have since expanded to encompass all aspects of wine tourism, catering for tours from 2 to 200 passengers.
Victoria Winery Tours is a Member of Tourism Alliance Victoria Ltd and therefore is an officially recognized and registered tour operator. So you know you are dealing with a professional team.
We regularly work with Tourism Victoria and their visiting journalists program; as well as with other organisations, conducting industry familiarisation tours to promote Victoria as a tourist destination.
Our host drivers and guides, all of whom have received accolades from our clients - see below - have had specific wine tourism training and many years of practical experience in the field between them. They can explain all our clients need to know about the regions visited and the wine styles to be found there.
